Ocean Park, Hong Kong 2014

Nov 6, 2014 Ocean Park, Hong Kong -  Before our trip, I googled the places I wanted to visit (except for Disneyland because I wanted it to be a surprise). I spent extra time with Ocean Park since it is kind of expensive. I just had to convince myself that it will be worth it and boy, it was more than what I vouched for. The photos and reviews, no matter how beautifully written they were didn't give justice to the experience that I had. I was thrilled, scared and in awe at the same time not to mention that I am with my family celebrating our many firsts.

Our first agenda was to go to the other side where "adult" rides are because we're cool like that. Lol! Nah, we wanted to try the cable car first then the rides. :)

We passed by Old Hong Kong that looked very much like China town.

Gotta love these walls!!!

Off we went. This was probably my favorite part. I could ride back and forth all day and savor the calming view. It wasn't a short ride either :D

Weeeeeeee!!!! :D

(more photos soon. crappy internet connection)

Blogging about this makes me want to teleport to one of Ocean Park's cable cars. I would never forget the this-is-scary-as-shit-but-I-will-try-it-anyway feeling only to find out that it wasn't THAT scary, the legendary seasickness tablets that "amazingly" didn't make us dizzy but super duper sleepy that I wish I was dizzy instead (pun intended), the endless surprises wherever we went, the life size aquariums, live sharks! Haha, the fountain show!!!! (We were chanting Symbio, symbio even after we left!),  the random laugh trips, the photo moments with my brothers (!!!!!), did I say our many firsts? ( :D) and the all-day kilig feeling because I am mababaw like that. Oh life, since when did you become so good to me? :)

We weren't able to try all the rides, explore Waterfront nor watch any show but I know that I will be back one day to do all those things. Everything still feels surreal up until now and I am beyond grateful for having been able to experience all these with the most important people in my life. Yay! Thank you Lord! E

A is for Anawangin

LOL at my post title. This is a super late post but I really wanted to post it because it was an amazing experience. I went to Anawangin in May 2010, I guess. I can't even remember the exact date but I remember the experience perfectly. Chos!
Anawangin island is beautiful but the company of good friends made the trip awesome!

Hello from Anawangin! :)

Before Anawangin, I've never stayed overnight on an isolated island where there's no electricity, bathroom,  restaurant, cellphone signal and a comfy bed to sleep in. I wasn't scared because I was with my friends and I took it as a new "first" that I will surely remember. True enough, it had been a blast. It was more than I expected. It was fun and surely worth remembering. Good thing, we have an itinerary to follow. Thanks to Stan! Well, we were not able to follow the schedule but surprisingly we were able to do everything without even noticing it. :)
The picture looks grade school-ish I know. Haha!
When we got to San Antonio, we stopped by at the market to buy the things we needed. You can buy everything there even knife, ihawan and ice chest at a low price. The only thing that I didn't like was there's no 711 nor fast food in the area. Bakit ba gusto ko ng chicken joy for lunch nun eh. Haha. The carinderias aren't bad but they're not satisfying either. ;p

It was midday so the sand was really hot. Good thing I was wearing my wedges, yes my wedges saved my feet! :)
It was my first boat right and I loved it. I loved how the water splashed on my face, I loved how salty the water is and I loved how we shouted and enjoyed the long ride.
I was in awe. I never thought islands have tall trees and all. I particularly love this bridge. :)
Setting up our tent! Thank God we have Ronli who brought one big tent enough for the 4 of us. He taught us how to set it up :) Nakakamiss lang!
Guess what! there's Halo Halo in the island. A Caucasian even talked to us (Roxy and I) and said "we're like survivors here, survivor Philippines!" and we replied "Yeah!" LOL! We wanted to disappear right then and there. Hahaha!

Food Preparation. A+ for Teamwork. Yay!

Pictorial while cooking. Haha!

Night swimming and Anawangin sunset! :)
Kainan na! :)
The photo says it all. Laughtrip at its best!
Stargazing by the beach! The sky was so clear that night. This is probably one of the reasons why I love Anawangin. It's not like I can't do that in other places but I don't know I haven't seen the sky as clear as that yet. Sorry naman sa stars di kasi kita sa camera ko. Haha!

Good morning sunshine!
Anawangin Day 2

At the tent area. Alam na alam kung sino huling nagising! Haha.
Don't you just love the view (na tinakpan namin)? ;p
Preparing for mountain climbing! :)
View from above. We climbed the mountain with our bikinis on. That's how adventurous we are. LOL!
Panegrahan mode. The death of my dear camera. Writings on the sand. The fab ones kind of fun :)
Bye A. 'til we meet again :)
XO,
Ejay

Dreaming of Paris for the nth time.

Who doesn't dream of Paris? You need no reasons to want to go there. If there's one dream that I wanted to come true the most that is to make my Paris trip happen. I'm not sure when yet but I will one day!

As for now,  I'd settle for the photo below... Hehe.

Europe...

I will visit you someday :) I know I will.

The city that I will never miss going to, not a chance, -- Paris
Eiffel Tower. I always imagine myself standing under the Eiffel Tower in awe. :D

Extended Warranty is LOVE

As you all know, my camera got soaked in saltwater when we went to Anawangin last May 15. It was my bad but I won't talk about that now.

me with a fake smile... hehe

Instead of ruining my day, I enjoyed myself with my friends and I thought that I'll just deal with the camera thingy when I get home. I tried to have it dried up at the sea shore hoping that I'll be able to use it still while in Anawangin. Sadly, it didn't work. :-( Sayang. I wasn't able to capture our last moments at that awesome place. I was saving the battery pa naman for the next day. Good thing, roxy's cam is still working kahit na low bat na. :-)

Anyway, when I get home I hung it sa electric fan hoping that it will dry up and work again. It didn't, unfortunately. Then I remembered to check the extended warranty.

I couldn't get through the 1800 number so I called Abenson, rob instead. I brought my cam with its accessories and I was told that they'll forward it to sony and will just inform me when I could get it.

After a week, I called them again to follow up. I miss my camera. I missed documenting fun events. When I called, they told me that my cam's now for replacement because the labor cost is higher compared to the cost of new unit. I couldn't be more grateful! I even have the option have the same model or a camera model after that... I opted for the latest of course :D I couldn't wait! Will get it one of these days :) Yipee!

Anawangin... we're coming! :)

I am super hopeful that our Anawangin escapade will push through! I'm overwhelmed that many are as as excited as moi! :D Tentative date will be on the 15th! I know, madami pang pwedeng mangyari but I might as well keep my hopes up to attract positive vibes and I will go there whatever happens :D Yey!

I have to push through my "project ana" (I've got this from the book Bergdorf Blondes, such an entertaining book btw) as well! Jogging today is cancelled. :( I didn't wake up early! My 2nd attempt this week and boy I blew it all again. Rap (my little sort of chubby brother -- yeah right, that's an understatement) has been making kulit why I didn't wake up early. Haha. Oh well am eating less than usual anyway.

Until then...
