How to Keep Cool this Summer

I've always loved summer. It's the time of the year when we can practically do anything under the sun. This summer's heat is crazy though but that shouldn't hinder us to keep this summer a blast.

HIT THE BEACH

Don't you just love the feel of the warm breeze in your skin while walking to the finest sands, dipping in the cleanest water to cool you down?

The Philippines has the most amazing beaches there is and summer will never be complete without having visited at least one besides there are lots of air fare seat sales promos so traveling nowadays is cheap. You can either visit the famous beaches like Boracay or Palawan or explore those that are yet to be developed like Anawangin, Nagsasa Cove, Potipot or Borawan Island.

Anawangin Cove Zambales
Dos Palmas Palawan
MOVIE MARATHON (with the AC on)
Host a movie marathon at your place and get cozy with the AC on. Nothing beats watching a good movie with the company of fun friends and a bowl of popcorn and ice cold Coke to share with.

SIGHTSEEING IN BAGUIO
If the super hot weather really bothers you, spend a week at Baguio, the summer capital of the Philippines. There are many places to visit like the Minesview Park, Burnham Park, Strawberry Fields, Camp John Hay and The Mansion.
There are enough things to put on your what do to list to keep you busy like horseback riding, boating, biking, picnics, picture taking, camping, picking strawberries, golf, shopping and simply enjoying the nice scenery and the cold climate.

ROADTRIP TO TAGAYTAY
A road trip to Tagaytay on a weekend can never go wrong. Stop over at Leslie's for lunch, chill at Starbucks and go to the People's Park and try their zip line. Take as much pictures as you can and don't forget to buy pasalubong at Rowena's. Their tarts are heavenly. :)

EAT HALO-HALO
The Philippines famous halo halo
With the scorching heat of the sun, ice treats are definitely summer must-haves and halo halo with ube ice cream is my favorite!

DRESS APPROPRIATELY FOR SUMMER
Wear comfy clothes! Dark colored clothes absorb heat so stick to lighter shades this summer. Wear fabrics that are light and flowing than those that are tight fitting and cling to your skin. Cotton fabric is especially breathable and suitable to wear in the heat.

HAVE AN UMBRELLA AND SUNGLASSES HANDY

...to cover you from direct heat and protect your skin from the sun. and oh, don't forget to put sunscreen on, at all times.

GO SHOPPING
Just like with air fares, there are summer sale bazaars too. You get chic clothes at a very reasonable price. So, call your shopping buddy and splurge on that awesome two-piece you've been thinking about for the last two weeks.
